Illustrating PhD research projects

As one part of the official opening of the new Hardiman Research Building at NUI Galway, there was a showcase of some of the 250 PhD research projects the building now houses.

To give some sense of the breadth of the projects, and the diversity of the researchers working on them, I used the project titles along with the researcher nationalities to create a simple visual that was displayed as part of a rolling slideshow. As pointed to by the word cloud, all the projects covered are within the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences.
